This is a highly customized version of the real car - the Karmann Ghia (1955 - 1974) as the standard version had no air scoop or spoiler and was promoted in a memorable TV ad as "the cheapest European sports car available", and then, as the car bounced backwards off a paper banner strung across the road, a message appeared saying, "The cheapest. Just not the most powerful." The car has one of the most elegant coupé bodies ever designed, placed atop a minimally-modified VW Beetle chassis and engine.
