Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet was originally an April Fool's prank, but there was such a demand by fans that Mattel actually made it into a "real" product. This is Mattel's April Fool's message:
"Hey, Hot Wheels fans. We’ve got a special sneak peek of one of our hot vehicle releases for 2011…it’s Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet! We worked really closely with our friends at DC comics to make sure the details were perfect. Check it out here!"
This is Mattel's reaction to the massive fan request:
"After seeing your response to last week's April Fool's hoax (Wonder Woman's Invisible Jet), we're talking to our partners over at DC Comics and Warner Bros. about making this joke a "limited edition" reality. Details to come!"
The Invisible Jet costed $5 at San Diego Comic Con.
