Groot package front

Groot was a Flora colossus from Planet X, the capital of the branch worlds. The sapling that would come to be known as "Groot" came from an "Enobled Sap-line" and gifted in quasi-dimensional super-positional engineering. Groot did not get along with his fellow saplings, instead preferring the company of the "Maintenance Mammals" who the other saplings treated with prejudice. After Groot killed another sapling to defend a maintenance mammal it was brutalising, as well as releasing a human subject that was kidnapped for scientific purposes, he was exiled of the planet by the "Arbor Masters". With no place to go, Groot set to explore other galaxies.

Into his adulthood Groot found himself in Kree space, where he was promptly captured and imprisoned. While in jail, he formed a rapport with Rocket Raccoon and was assigned to a covert ops team led by Starlord, whose goal was to assault Hala and defeat the Phalanx. His body was mostly destroyed, but a small twig of him split off, preserving him, traveling in the care of Rocket Raccoon, fitting easily in his hand. He can grow back to his full size in time.

To most people, Groot appears to only say 'I am Groot.' This makes communication with most people all but completely futile. But whenever Groot is saying his trademark "I am Groot!" he may actually be saying a number of things. It was the hardened nature of Groot's larynx that causes people, who are oblivious to the subtle nuances of his speech, to misinterpret him as merely repeating his name. After spending some time with Groot, certain people such as Rocket Raccoon were able to pick up his nuances, and understand him.

This diecast model is a perfect replica of the ginormous tree-like being. A big creature equals big machinery: a heavy hauler. Designed to carry around Rocket Raccoon. This model has a slidable and tipping bed.

The Groot has come out in the following 1/64 scale versions:

From the back of the 2015-card:

Marvel's tree-like warrior, Groot, possesses the brute force and transporting abilities of this flatbed hauler. You'll notice the Guardian of the Galaxy's rugged face in the jagged, wood-textured cab, while the side railers are shaped like twisted branches to resemble his legs. With logs for fuel tanks, off-road tires and a truck bed that perfectly fits the car of his fierce little partner, Rocket Raccoon, this hauler is large and ready to charge!
