Hot Wheels: World Race was a video game developed by Climax Brighton and Mattel Interactive under the Highway 35 label, first released on 05 November 2003 for PlayStation 2 and GameCube in the United States. Other platforms and international releases debuted at later dates.
Plot[]
The World Race video game took place in a modified canon of the Hot Wheels: World Race film and featured a slightly altered cast of drivers and vehicles due to licensing and modeling issues. The game had three modes (Challenge, Single Player, Multiplayer) and featured thirty-five playable characters and vehicles.

Challenge[]
Challenge was a tutorial mode that consisted of five different tasks for the player to complete. Each challenge awarded a single gallery item that was viewable in the main menu.

Quick Race[]
Quick race had three difficulties (Easy, Medium, Hard) where the player raced against NPC vehicles through each track level.
Time Trial[]
Time Trial was a timed game mode where players attempted to achieve the lowest millisecond score possible in three laps on any unlocked track level map.
League[]
League had three difficulties (Rookie, Veteran, Elite) where players raced against NPC vehicles to obtain enough points to advance to the next unlocked track level without being disqualified.
