The 40 Somethin' is a Hot Wheels Original Design patterned after the famed Ford GT-40. Its design ran parallel to that of Ford's 100th anniversary redesign of the same car. Both launched in early January 2002 with neither company aware of the other's design. The Hot Wheels model is a much more modern interpretation, featuring graphics depicting members of Eric Tscherne's family.the 40 somethin' has a carbon fibre monocoque on double wishbone suspension with magnesium chassis. the car has as seen above looks like a Ford GT40 with front raidiator,brake,and rear brake inlets and a raidiator outlet on the hood as well as a brake outlet at the side with a spoiler fused with the body. a polycarbonite windsheild that wraps over the roof. the car is powered by a 740hp all aluminum 5.0 liter twin turbocharged V8 engine with headers and quad exauhst with a 7 speed magnesium transmission. it's controlled by racing slicks and 8 cylinder carbon fiber brakes with both slotted and drilled rotors.
